QA Engineer - London
A QA Engineer is required to join a fast growing cross-border payments and currency exchange Technology Team. You'll work in a multi-skilled team working side-by-side with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Managers, and QA Engineers to ensure a consistently top-class product is delivered to customers.


Requirements

  • Provide QA support for the development team for both Web Applications and a RESTful API
  • Document and improve the test processes
  • To help mentor and teach the existing QA engineer
  • Desirable to have knowledge of finance and/or FX trading



Core Technical Skills

  • Ability to author test plans with an emphasis on prioritising highest risk test cases
  • Experience with web API testing, manual and automated
  • Experience of test automation tools/libraries such as Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG
  • Experience with a querying language such as SQL.
  • Good understanding of at least one of Python, C#, Java, plus OO design patterns



Desirable Technical Skills

  • Good experience of QA/automation testing (Ideally Java)
  • Good understanding of TDD and layers of testing; unit, acceptance, integration etc.
  • Good understanding of RESTful API, contributing to design of APIs
  • Ability to build, update and maintain automation test suites
  • Good knowledge on Java based technologies like Maven, Spring, RestAssured is a bonus
  • Experience in load and performance test tools such as Jmeter and Blazemeter
  • Writing PowerShell/ Bash script and using tools such as Postman/Fiddler/VS Code
  • Cloud platforms (such as AWS/Azure)
  • Experience in testing web applications
  • Testing Microservices/SOA and queue-based messaging system
  • Experience of build and deployment tools like Octopus
  • Experience in non-functional testing such as performance, security
  • Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence
