Purpose of Role

To lead, with the other Executive Director, the overall implementation of the Public Sectors vision, values and objectives and to provide a strong sense of direction, optimism and purpose throughout the organisation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To act as the Head of Paid Service or Deputy Head of Paid Service in accordance with the Constitution in alternate calendar years with the other Executive Director, inspiring, motivating and developing the workforce so that they have a real sense of ownership of the vision, values and objectives and are encouraged to perform to the highest level and make best use of their talents.
  • maintaining strong financial management underpinned by effective financial controls;
  • contributing to corporate management and leadership;
  • supporting and advising democratically elected representatives;
  • supporting and advising officers in their operational roles; and
  • leading and managing an effective and responsive financial service
