The role

The role of Lead Embedder will be to work with the lead engineers in the Data Engineering groups as well as the LOB teams acting as early adopters of the new offerings coming out of the data engineering teams - bringing combined projects to production and helping establish a coherent whole to the set of offerings.

The responsibilities

  • The Lead will need to build their team of Embedders who will be actively developing with the LOB teams as well as helping to grow the offerings (this includes contributing to the code-base).
  • The role will expand as the suite of offerings grow, and the number of collaborating LOBs grows; in the early stages will be focused on the adoption of the recently released Data Control Pipeline, and on the critical Data Modelling Codification efforts
  • At a later stage the role will expand to driving the buildout of Business Architecture tools. The Lead Embedder will report to the Head of Common Platform Engineering; this is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the early stages of this groups' formation.

Essential

  • Experienced, well-rounded, technically strong developers excellent at collaborating, translating requirements into phased pragmatic deliverables

  • Working closely with LOB teams to kick-start projects and adoption - also to provide informed feedback to Core team on improvements to tools/approach
  • Ideally, with good internal network at Citi and knowledge from LOB role previously

    Embedders will form a horizontal group with a point-person for each LOB as we expand the LOBs we collaborate with.
