Job Title: Business Analyst / Data Analyst - Resolute / Annapurna - EMEA

Job Specification

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Markets operations solutions group is a global function, created to provide senior management with operational business intelligence on performance, exposure, risk management and productivity across all product groups. Additionally, to develop the operations technology stack to improve processes and reduce risk.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Below are brief descriptions of the key functions this role will be supporting.

Project Resolute:

A risk multi-faceted program which combines technology engineering project deliverables alongside metric reporting and business intelligence project deliverables. In summary:

  • Anomaly Detection Service Development - a new payment screening service which will be integrate ready for all payments apps to call to. The service will provide rules-based payment anomaly detection attribute checks as well as machine learning pattern matching payment profiling. The intention is to reduce amount and frequency of ORE occurrence in payment processes.
  • Ops Processing Risk Framework (OPRF) - metric driven risk framework development the intention of which is to provide a risk profile for each ops group/geography highlighting where concentrations of risk manifests and whether there are gaps in remediation strategy,

Candidate requirements:

We are looking for a solid multi-faceted business analyst who can apply themselves to a wide range of tasks and projects at any one time. Additionally, there will be a need to manage and execute regular RTB type functions across the major themes described above as necessary.

Candidate will need to bring a willingness to learn a broad range of product knowledge and skills but also garner a 'roll up your sleeves attitude' to ensure delivery of team's end product. This is not a typical programme manager role monitoring and managing projects at a high level - candidates will be expected to get their hands dirty as and when needed.

Tasks Include (but are not solely confined to):

  • Actively facilitate and lead global team calls to capture updates on the progress of all CTB projects within any of the major project streams
  • Understand and assist where required all the RTB functions that team manage. Perform a liaison role between Ops and our team.
  • Owning and contributing to automation projects throughout all phases of the project lifecycle e.g. Requirements Specification, UAT Testing & Sign Off, Rollout and Post Production Checkouts
    • Requirements Specification: Create, review and enhance global Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Feed Specification Documents and tailor to meet the needs of new feed automation. Act as liaison between Technology and Operations Stakeholders. Working knowledge of relational databases (tables, datatypes, joins) and experience of manipulating and working with large datasets is essential. Converting business logic into technical schema to implement the metric development.
    • UAT Testing: Develop and execute UAT test plans that will ensure business requirements have been met / create test scripts including specific test cases and expected results Have an understanding of the UAT cycle.
    • UAT Sign off: Manage users at various levels within Operations to take them through the UAT testing process and successfully obtain sign off during the UAT phase
    • Rollout and Post Production Checkouts: Act as point of contact for Technology partners and contribute to project rollout and post production checkouts to ensure successful project closure
  • Develop SME level knowledge of reporting & workflow platforms and providing training and assistance to end users
  • Identify areas of inefficiency and implement system and process improvements in the spirit of continuous improvement
  • Understanding and utilize standard processes, design and testing tools throughout project development life cycle
  • Face-off with Operations, IT, Internal Audit, Line Control to a very senior level as a representative
  • Excellent presentation skills with exquisite attention to detail. We often have to publish, idea, concepts, updates to a broad range of recipients so being able to swiftly put together a succinct series of presentation slides is imperative.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience in investment banking operations and/or technology preferred.

· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

· Project management experience highly applicable

· Ability to facilitate global calls and manage various stakeholders at all levels of seniority

· Ability to build consensus. History of success working in a team environment.

· Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.

· Monitor tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes

· Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers

· Strong team player happy working as part of a global team or as an individual contributor
